Mcdonalds Veggie Burger Recipe

Mcdonalds Veggie Burger recipe is a popular vegetarian dish from the Mcdonalds outlet. With so many people becoming vegetarians, it’s essential to have options for those who don’t eat meat or animal products. McDonald’s veggie burger is a vegetarian option that tastes good and is also an economically viable food option compared with other McDonald’s burgers. The veggie option is on par with the meat patty and has nutrients. McDonald’s even has a vegetarian establishment in the UK and many other countries such as India.

I tried McDonald’s veggie burger at a local McDonalds restaurant for the first time. The taste was not so noticeably different. It tasted like any other hamburger except without the beef. There were some onions, tomatoes, pickles, etc. They had added some vegetables, but they weren’t noticeable. When you bite into this burger, two things stand out; one is the texture, and the second, the flavor. This food recipe from Mcdonald’s does not feel like anything special. You can tell right away what kind of bun it is because it feels very soft and squishy.

The main ingredients in a McDonalds veggie burger recipe are lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, ketchup, mustard, and finally, the vegetable patties themselves. It does not take a genius to understand that the meat has been replaced with soy protein if you notice. If you look up their website, you’ll see that they have several vegetarian options available for purchase.

I’m sure these veg burgers taste great, but to me, they do seem as good as other fast food restaurants’ offerings. The only thing about them that makes them different from regular hamburgers is the lack of non-veg options such as chicken or beef.

Step-by-step Instructions on preparation of Mcdonalds Veggie Burger Recipe:

Here are the Step by step instructions on how to cook a vegetarian version of one of their most popular menu items – the Veggie Burger. This recipe will show you exactly what goes into making this delicious recipe!

  1. Before starting with the first step, it is important to know how to make vegetable patties. The first thing while making McDonald’s veggie burger recipe is to take four large potatoes. It is important to wash the potatoes well because of the soil attached to the skin of the freshly harvested potato. Put these potatoes in the bowl and wash them out thoroughly.
  2. Toss the potatoes well in the fresh running tap water. Once the potatoes are made rid of any soil or impurities, then cut them in half lengthwise, so they are easier to handle. After cutting each potato in half, place them inside an oven-safe dish or bowl. Cover the top of the potatoes with plastic wrap and at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 10 to 15 minutes, keep them inside the microwave until the potatoes are soft enough to mash.
  3. Once you have mashed your potatoes, add a little bit of butter on top of it. Sprinkle some salt with some salt bae action over the top of that mixture. Now take a spoonful of sour cream and mix it into the mashed potatoes. Add more salt if needed.
  4. Once the mashed potatoes cool down, take some and put them back in their original container, and store them in the refrigerator if you want to use them later. You can also freeze these potatoes by placing them in freezer bags. This is great because when you want to make a veggie burger later, all you need to do is thaw out the frozen potato mash and fry them!
  5. Take a frying pan or skillet with oil (I used olive oil) and heat up the stove until hot enough for the oil to be smoking. Once the oil has heated up, place the potato mash inside the pan and let cook for about 5 minutes.
  6. Flip the potatoes once they are browned on one side. Now flip it over again so that both sides of the potato get cooked. Let this continue cooking for another 3-5 minutes, depending on how crispy you like your patties. This patty is now ready to be used in the burger.
  7. Now that the burger patty is ready, add some toppings such as lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, etc. Add cheese if desired. Now the selection of cheese to be used in this recipe is very important. Use a good quality cheddar or Swiss cheese, which will melt well when combined with the other ingredients.
  8. If using American Cheese, then use only 1/4 cup instead of half. The reason is that American cheese melts much faster than regular cheeses. Also, for a good quality burger, cheese slice gives us the optimal results.
  9. Now take the lower side of the bun and place it below the patty layer so that you have a sandwich-like format.
  10. The next step is to put mustard on both sides of the buns. I prefer Dijon Mustard because its flavor goes really well with burgers. Carefully squeeze the mustard on the insides of the buns. This helps in keeping the bread soft while adding more flavor to your burger.
  11. Next comes lettuce leaves. You can choose any kind of leafy green vegetable, but we usually go for romaine lettuce as they are very easy to cut into strips. It is your choice to place full lettuce leaves or the freshly cut leaves of the lettuce. Once the lettuce leaves are placed, now place the fried vegetable patty on top of the lettuce leaves.
  12. Next comes cheese and then tomato slices. The amount you add depends upon how much you like it. If you want a lot of tomatoes, just pile them up high. But if you don’t have that many tomatoes, make sure not to overdo it. Instead, you can add the vegetable of your choice, such as jalapenos.
